Outstanding cognitive dissonance.
Which member of the board were you again?

Are you saying I've suffered a bout of cognitive dissonance, or Wilkin? I think you're wrong on both counts anyway but you're entitled to your opinions.

For cognitive dissonance to be the right term, there would be opposing views on the same subject by a single person.. but the two are clearly different. Wilkin cocked up by reading his contract and not taking the time to understand it or by not getting someone who did understand it to take a read. That was naive.

The trust have been spinning this line for years about how great they were. That's a different issue. Wilkin is a bit too much of an apologist on this front, probably a bit too nice and suspect that was a key theme which led to his undoing.

My view is not confused in the least. The trust were terrible at a lot of things, but convincing us otherwise was something they did pretty well for too long. Wilkin fell for the same bullshit that many of us did.

I think many of you are very rose tinted about the Wilkin era. He comes across as a nice guy who was very green and out if his depth and has found his level at a nice small club with manageable expectations. I both wish him well and am glad he left when he did.

I just can't get my head round how obsessed some people are now with the WST being the devil incarnate - so much so that when an ex manager talks about the trust then he is clearly brainwashed.

Wilkin still under the spell of the trust, sad to see.

Don't think he can really slag off the club and WST, it wouldn't look good if and when he looks for work in the future.

As I said, entitled to your opinions just as we all are. I think the WST started out as something very noble and descended into something less than that over time.

Sounds like he's done well at Brackley and their owner would speak very highly of him. I don't thing saying some negative things on a fans podcast would damage his rep too severely.

I don't think he was holding too much back, or was brainwashed. I think he was probably angry at the time but has reflected since then.
