Default Kevin Wilkin lifts the lid on his time at Wrexham

Morning all,

There's a new Fearless In Devotion episode out today that you'll hopefully be interested in listening to.

On this week's podcast we've got part one of an interview we did with Kevin Wilkin.

He's a pretty humble guy and gave an interesting account of his time at Wrexham, including what he could have done better and what the board could have done better, but also reflecting on a pretty impressive ruck of signings.

He also hit back at one of the panel for an opinion piece they wrote after he left!

Great listen. He is a class act and deserved to be treated a bit better. Sounds like a nightmare behind the scenes at that time.

The words he said about Les Evans were very moving.

Listening now, sounds like Keates, Bishop, Harris etc really done him over

He had a good eye for a player, but his training methods were archaic. The loss against North Ferriby was greatly embarrassing also.

His comments on struggling to get an assistant manager in within the budget he was given were quite interesting. I always felt he'd have benefited from having a more experienced number two.

I'm hardly even partway through this one but I was super excited when I saw this come up.

I'll say it, and it might end badly once I've listened to the whole thing but Kevin Wilkin is an absolute gentleman and deserved more from us collectively (fans, board and certain players). I believe with lessons learned and time to grow into role he would have been a fantastic manager for us. I am filled with dissapointment in hindsight about how it worked out.

Nearly finished the podcast, another good one chaps. Keep up the good work.

I’d forgotten about some of signings too, and the fact he brought in people like Manny. Who were the senior players - Keates, Harris and Bishop? Clarke and Carra? It would have been interesting to see what he would’ve done with a clean slate from the Morrell era.
