That's interesting although, to be fair, Hartlepool didn't know which league they would be competing in next season so it would seem prudent to wait until that was clear before dishing out contracts.

Surely Mike Flynn should be a Plan B or even a Plan A option.They lost Liam Shepherd today to Salford,the second key player to leave this Summer.He might well fancy a new challenge with less budget constraints before even mentioning bigger fanbase etc.
