She would say that being from South Wales. They think Wrexham is a poor suburb of Liverpool.

Mate - she's from Cross Hands. They struggle to understand what it means to be from Swansea let alone hundreds of miles north.

I have lived there for over 15 years and that's wrong. Other than being told I sound Scouse, no one has ever referenced Liverpool.

The stock reaction to someone from south Wales (and by 'south Wales' I mean a line drawn Port Talbot, Merthyr, Abergavenny and Newport) to Wrexham is that it's somewhere in North Wales - which to them starts at Merthyr. And you're all English up there butt, except them ones from Anglesey who speak Welsh.

And Cross Hands isn't south Wales either. It's out west. Turns out not only people from south Wales have a loose grasp of Welsh geography.
