Think you need to reread what he wrote. Never met a Canadian that disliked their continent!

I just hope when they do come to Wrexham that they get to see some of the real Wrexham not some curated, sanitised version like an "invite only" event in the Fat Boar or the Cent.

Show them places like the Long Pull and the Cross Foxes on an unannounced visit. Set the cameras rolling and enjoy the documentary footage that will ensue

They intend by all accounts to promote Wrexham as a whole not just the football club, this town will be booming, especially when the documentary comes out. The football attendance alone will boost our economy, tourists will come in there droves to Wrexham and North Wales

The amount of publicity for the town will bring back the retailers however, like most towns and city’s the town will change. We will more likely than not be under city status by then.

The most prized possession we have is the people we were just voted the second friendliest place in the uk according to a recent survey. Yes we have some idiots but probably less than most towns our size.

Let’s be more positive about our town and focus more on all the good things we are doing as a community we should be proud.

There are parts of the town that I really like and are pleasant to be in but the general feeing is one of economic and physical decline.
My feeling exactly, sadly run down and declining but no different to many towns and cities in the UK. Places like Hartlepool were mentioned as potential take over targets in the past and that's a town centre very similar to Wrexham...run down, neglected and showing no signs of improvement...

However....as an exile and someone who has travelled and lived all around the UK, North Wales is one of the most beautiful places in the world, something to be proud of (now with a couple of UNESCO world heritage sites thrown in)

Agreed - and with a bit of impetus a town can revitalise itself. Prestatyn is starting to look much better with new shops opening and the high st becoming hospitality rather than just charity shops.

There are far worse places to live than Wrexham. On the doorstep to north wales coast, good road transport links, thriving industrial estate, and home to a football club on the up.

It would be great if they could provide some form of “leadership” for the town, because it certainly isn’t coming from any of the dysfunctional council, and the elected MP and MS.
