I’m sure he could play holding a clipboard and making notes. He can multi task, he was brilliant in the Monkees.

As long as his legs haven't completely gone, should be a decent signing at this level.
I don’t mind the signing but it doesn’t really solve much. We need 2 midfielders who are going to be playing 40 odd games for us. I doubt Jones will play more than 20 games.

It sorts us out in midfield for the first few games I would say. I agree that we need more beyond that but I have faith that we'll have someone else in by the end of the window.

I'd say that at worst, Jones will be our main man in the middle for the first 4 games and we should be able to integrate someone else in there by the Woking game.

you have to laugh about the posters on Red Passion, if we signed Messi most would complain because he was a free transfer and why haven't Barcelona kept him.

Our leaders are bringing in great players . They are prepared to make decisions (some will be wrong ) but I for one will be supportive of their decisions , both in players they sign and others who they look at and reject.

It says (when we take our time and reject players or terms ) to the agents ,we are not a soft target .

Think back to what has happened with previous managers when we have picked up average players with mad terms in the contracts.

Only time will tell Wes Hoolihan played 36 times for Cambridge last season and was pivotal in their promotion. He is three years older than Dave Jones.
Times have changed footballers arnt necessarily finished at 33 anymore.

Jones will also have good contacts in the game and will probably know on the grapevine if a player becomes available who can make us better.

He did a podcast with some Wolves fans earlier this year, which was an interesting listen:
