Luke Young Named as Captain

IMHO opinion i don't think hes an on the pitch leader like Pearson was. He goes missing way too often in matches.

With Pearson gone i really would have thought we would have looked at bringing in an experienced Captain especially in the midfield area where we have been lacking for so long.

Wouldn't seem right to start the season without naming the Captain.

It's entirely possible that we sign a top midfielder or two who lessens Luke's appearances and becomes the 'Team Captain' with Young remaining as the 'Club Captain' even if not playing as much.

I think we had a similar set-up with Fergie and Carey back in the good old days.

I also really need to be mindful of my initial comments because reading back I sound like I'm being negative about young and couldn't be further from the truth... I think he is great and perhaps this should just be a thread of congratulations, I'm guilty of contributing to its inevitable decline into a ranty thread.

So with that in mind, well done Luke Young.

Yeah, good point! I didn't either.

Luke is a model pro and does his fair share off the pitch. Everything you want in a Captain in terms of an ambassadorial and has clearly led by example the last few years.

Yep. Very good player and very underrated. I think we'll see how good he is tbis season.

You really struggle to understand other posters. ER never said that nor did any of us. We simply stated that we need to give the management time to see how the new recruits and those existing players gel under the new management.
