The correct choice for me, You grow into a role. Good luck to him.

The more worrying thought is he was the only obvious choice.

We all know, we need at least another midfielder, but I guess we have already improved the midfield in some aspects from last season and no doubt PP will soon add at least one other quality addition. Young and Davies improved during last season and scored some cracking goals and Davies in particular should be much stronger after his first season of NL football. We have lost Jay Harris and needs replacing but he missed large portions anyway, whilst bringing in Jones and MciIinden. We may not have a championship midfield just yet but all in all we have improved.

Definitely need more leaders in the squad. Problem is, getting quality leaders is difficult no one wants to sell them.

An interesting choice, probably due to Brisley’s unfortunate injury.

Not convinced his all-round game — so far — is good enough to guarantee a start if we had the calibre of midfielders I think we still need.

That said, he has the opportunity now to set his mark for the quality of his own game and that of the team.

We will soon see if he can deliver; but we mustn’t forget the other 10 players contribute to the whole, and it is up to PP and his management team to ensure we are well prepared to win the majority of our games.

Who will the missing No6 be? And when will they sign?

I am not yet as concerned as some fellow RPers, but we are still missing a few key players, and the transfer-window is slowly closing.

Im sure PP knows what he,s doing he has said a few times he is still looking for players to come in and the number 6 shirt is still up for grabs,we just got to be paitient,Luke Young is a good choice and a cracking midfielder and got into the league team last season so cant be that bad.

Well done Luke. I’m a fan of his and think he will do a fine job. I don’t think this means there won’t be any midfield signings, but there won’t be the pressure on those new signings to come in as club captain so close to the season starting (or even after it already has).
