I’m a big fan of Young but I don’t think he’s a leader on the pitch. I would have given it to Mullin, given we haven’t signed that midfield lynchpin we so desperately need.

Disagree. Mullin already has plenty of pressure and expectation without tue captaincy. Young is the logical choice for me.

Letting Pearson go is looking like a mistake IMO.

I agree, with the addition of a class midfielder i think we will see a different Luke Young this season if he is allowed to have his shackles off.

For me, if you have two solid signings like Brad Walker in midfield, Lainton fit all season and another CB we will win the league, or go close. As it stands we’ll struggle to boss games.

Young for me would be a squad player. I’m not sure i see him in an attacking role infront of mcalinden or even Jordan davies. His set pieces are good but I’m really not sure that he offers much in open play.

Definitely need -
CB signing
CB on loan
2 Defensive midfielders
1 striker

Would loan out Redmond & Ponticelli if the above 5 per obtained. Balance is totally wrong in midfield at present with come back from retirement David Jones the only DM but 4 no. 10s.Also playing 3 centre halves but only 3 centre halves fit including a 19 year old with no league experience .Parkinson really needs to pull few rabbits out of the hat as based on the squad and Curzon performance we are not ready for Solihull.

I'm sure Luke Young wants a DM signed up too so he doesn't have to be everywhere like the last couple of seasons.
Can't see him spending all game mouthing off at the officials either, which will be a welcome change for a Wrexham captain.

You say he’s everywhere…. I watched 95% of the streams last season and I can’t recall a single game that he stood out and was everywhere.

As I said he’s clearly a model-pro, but for me he’s not shown anything in previous seasons to suggest he’s somehow going to start bossing games. If you compare him to keates as a player, which for me is a direct comparison, he’s lagging behind.

I really hope he goes out on the field and proves me wrong. He might do with better players around him. After all, Parkinson sees him train everyday so maybe sees something different.
