English Pro Window is the same as the Welsh Pro Window.

The issue is the FA class everything outside of the EFL as Amateur. Therefore as our league is classed as an Amateur competition it’s bound by the Amateur window which is open all year round. Hence why we were able to bring in Green, Sang, Omotayo, KMB as Amateurs towards the end of last season.

As players transferring between clubs in England don’t need international clearance then clubs in our league can get away with registering players all year round. As anyone we’d be signing would be an international transfer it has to go through FIFA TMS, and when the Pro windows are shut it’s physically impossible to do.

No chance of getting a work permit to play fifth tier football in England.

However, if they were an hgv driver who played football in their free time then a work permit would probably
be granted within hours.

It’s not a case of the FAW putting us at a disadvantage, all they’re doing is following FIFA Regulations.

The issue is that despite FIFA saying that if a competition contains pro players it’s a pro competition, that even though our league has hundreds of pro players, the FA ignore this and class everything outside the football league as Amateur.

I care, as it shows that he is over the covid issue and that he is probably well enough to train.

Welsh clubs having an advantage over English clubs whilst playing in an English league would not go down too well. Besides, the FAW wouldn't/couldn't do this.

Lot of knickers in a twist here over some player that our head coach quite possibly feels he doesn’t need.
Last time we played 3 centre backs (consistently) was in the Denis Smith years and they weren’t too shabby. Only player resembling a CDM, as people refer to,was Jim Whitley, and he was hardly in the ‘enforcer’ bracket.
Admittedly we had Darren Ferguson then, but players of his calibre don’t tend to play non league football !
With 3 genuine centre backs and the right quality wing backs, why the need for more defensive cover ?

May as well put this thread into hibernation for a few months now until the window reopens.

It’s pointless discussing potential signings or even loan signings now. Hell, we can’t even sign out of contract players by the sounds of it.

What else can we talk about?

I wish. Kwasi Kwarteng secretary of state for business reiterated this week that HGV drivers will not be treated as a shortage occupation and told firms to hire British workers.

It's too late to train someone up from car to class 1 in time for Christmas as there aren't enough test slots available.

Hence firms paying 45-50k and still not getting.drivers.

Also means there aren't enough fitters, mechanics, office staff as they can all earn more driving.

Anyway that should probably be off topic
