Seems we did bid for Carlisle’s Guy last few weeks. I wonder whether he signs a new contract offered with them or sit it out until January when we probably go after him again??

Carlisle fans have completely shat on him this season, it sounds like he isn't performing well at all. If the £500k asking price is correct, it's no wonder we turned that down.

If his performances have dipped because his head has turned, it'll definitely be worth another enquiry in January. Could get him for 5 figures if he's desperate to leave!

PP probably had Guy and Clarke on his list of midfielder targets, and if neither were available he would go with what he has got.I fully expect us to be back in for one of them in January.

For the time being I would definitely be looking at available free agents to support until January. Butterfield for example would be a great addition, just returned from Australia and not offered a contract at Doncaster.

I was interested how he got on whilst over there (allowing for the Covid disruption too)
I had a good half hour reading the Melbourne Victory Fans forum -'For Vucks Sake ' ,and found a few fans thoughts on him during his spell.
This made me laugh (as did the very forthright way some of their fans trot it out !!
" Unfit, one-position hipster here for a paid holiday who could very occasionally put his laces through a ball but looked slightly above average in a very very shit side."
" Butterfield can be a tidy distributor but will need two hard working midfielders to supplement."

But not a bad call Wrex01

Sounds the perfect fit, we have enough legs in midfield.

This is true, we have loads of legs but no footballing brain in there. Just needs a foot on the ball and calm everything down especially when it's clear we are under pressure

Oh for a Darren Ferguson of the late 90's early 00's

This is what’s currently missing. We will have to live with this limitation until January. Meanwhile, PP and DJ must come up with an alternative plan to get us there.

Tricky problem to resolve.
