Default Eastleigh A player ratings

Very professional largely comfortable performance. Clinical when we need to be but we weren't completely dominant and better sides would cause us more issues on that display. However definitely a few more gears to go up and I can only see us going from strength to strength performance wise, particularly if we get a couple more in before the window shuts.

Lainton 7 - good early punch and then largely untroubled but did what he had to do calmly
French 6 - solid defensively, some poor distribution at times and doesn't have the dynamism of RHJ but he was absolutely fine
Lennon 7 - shaky start and an early booking but grew into the game well and looked composed and seemed to hold up well fitness wise
Hayden 9 - absolute colossus, didn't put a foot wrong. He reads the game so well and played like a Manny Smith but a couple of levels above. Can't speak highly enough of the lad on that performance
Tozer 7 - the odd shaky moment and dodgy distribution but as he only signed yesterday you can't knock him for not slotting in completely seamlessly. When we work on our tactics around his throw it'll be a real weapon and he will only get better as he settles in
Reckord 6 - as per French really, never going to be much attacking threat but solid and untroubled
Jones 6 - started brightly but faded and for me didn't have the influence I would hope for given his pedigree. I wojldnt say he was better than Young on that one performance but like Tozer I think there is much more to come as he settles in
Young 6 - pretty standard Luke really, got booked and his set pieces weren't quite on point today but not bad
Davies 6 - grew into the game after a poor start and won a few decent tackles in the middle. Shooting was really wayward today including one that cleared the main stand but good he has the confidence to have a go and will only improve when we play more games with this team
Mullin 6 - you can see what he will bring and was tireless but it didn't quite work for him in terms of his own chances and looked frustrated to be taken off. Plenty of goals to come
Hyde 8 - clinically finished his 2 chances especially the 1st where he was really calm and waited for the keeper to commit. Strong hold up play too. He will be a very big player for us

Subs

Angus 7 - quick and direct against a tiring defence, rushed a few of his shots but showed enough to be knocking on the door to play more as the season unfolds

Thoroughly enjoyed today’s game.

Ratings are spot on. Hayden looks ‘mega’ and Hyde will be our top scorer come end of season. Called the Mullin for Angus change 5 mins prior, so glad to see PP could recognise we needed a different approach on the break.

All in all, great away day.

Absolutely nailed it. The header they missed early first half was very costly for Eastleigh.

Hayden is so good. We are going to make a lot of money on him further down the line, £175k is a steal.

Fantastic game and good all round performance. Agree with the ratings except I would have given Davies a 7, he looked more comitted than last week. Our defence looks awesome and we will score goals. We still need a play maker and we're sorted.

Agree, fine player, always looks cool and seems to have time.

Only seen him once but I agree. For a central defender, he's got that lot. He's like a Curtis Tilt, and then some. Tremendous signing.

Dior will be very dangerous coming on for the last 15/20 minutes, when teams tire. He'll keep Mullin and Hyde on their toes, too.

I hope we don't make any money on him and keep him all the way to the premiership.
