Ultimately whether people like it or not unlike racist, homophobic or sexist language which can be illegal, swearing is not illegal in itself (if it was very bad and repeated I guess it can fall under the Public Order Act0. There is no legal basis at all to report someone to a steward just for swearing nor on which a steward (whilst they might have a quiet word) could move someone just for swearing.

Beyond that it is ettiquette as a couple of people have said but outside the family area, were there should be no swearing, this is not a subject on which you'll ever find a common ground
i think we're saying similar things. If it's anywhere else then that's up to him but if he is in the family part of the ground (if that's still a thing) then it should be dealt with.

It's been confirmed it's not in the family section.

Got to be honest here , doesn't matter where it is , swearing around little kids is never really acceptable . We all go to Football and express ourselves in different ways , but it's easy enough to vent your frustrations with out constantly swearing for 90 minutes . The odd expletive when things get heated is understandable, but as Plascochranger said this was constant for the whole game & there's just no need for that .

It was constant. And had no justification at all - it wasn’t as if the crowd as a whole were getting carried away and it was lost in the noise. The bloke concerned has been like that for years and as I said earlier he has had run ins with Pearson, Lainton and JEnnings when he has been profusely abusing players.

If he's been like that for years then the club definitely need to address it. Im all for getting carried away at matches. From the first whistle to the last he was non stop - from continual bad language as he obviously couldn't replace them with words from a dictionary, and the constant 'stamp on the little midget and squash him, he's only 3ft tall, the little b3ll3nd - f'in little c*nt' - he must have used that sentence at least 8 times in the match.

Yes, we are talking about the same person. Not only was his swearing over the top, but he was also full of absolute nonsense.
