Female Stewart Yesterday
 

Does anyone know what was going on to cause the female steward to go mental at some Wrexham fans, obviously something happened or was said as she had to be ushered away by other Southend stewards, sad really as the stewards all seemed pretty friendly overall

We're an inclusive club nowadays Mike if females wish to be called Stewart who are we to judge :)

I heard about it on twitter but didn't notice it, think she was goading us when they scored and has form for winning up away fans apparently!

It was after one of our goals. Didn't see what instigated her reaction, but she was shouting and swearing and flipping everyone off. As she was getting dragged away by one of the others she went to grab a plastic chair that was there but was thwarted! Have to assume she was planning on throwing it at somebody in the crowd which is mental, it was all very dramatic!

We were sat behind the corner flag.

After we scored our first goal, we saw some stewards move from there towards a bit of a kurfuffle going on behind the goal. We thought they going to assist the steward, who looked to be singling out one of the Wrexham fans. Instead, they escorted her away back to the corner and out under their East Stand. As she was being escorted out, she shouted a few colourful words towards the Wrexham fans and made a quality hand signal.

I love a bit of banter. Is an essential part of the game. However, there must have been some unacceptable exchange to create that kind of response. There is always two sides to any story.

Some posts on the Southend forum confirm that she was escorted out of the ground. Sounds like she may be in the wrong job.
