I remember Newport fans saying Harris was decent but not spectacular for them on loan prior to joining us. Obviously he started like a house on fire here but the moment he stopped scoring Hughesball was quickly dead in the water.

In fairness it would’ve been hard for anyone to thrive in that environment but he proves player development is in no way linear. No chance did I have him down as a breakthrough player for Cardiff anywhere near this soon after he left

I liked Harris. I remember the home game against Halifax that season where Harris and Barnum-Bobb (in his only decent appearance for us) absolutely had their left-back on toast. Could see there was a player there, probably would have been one who excelled in a more productive team.

He was more than good enough for us when here, just had useless managers in charge. Literally sums up our club at that time, we sent him back due to us not wanting him & he ends up an international only a few yesrs later

He showed what he could do under Hughes. Under Keates he had no chance. The Wales U21s would play at the Racecourse and Harris would frequently score and be the best player. Not that Keates was ever there to see it.

He had some expletives aimed at him from me, when he fluffed his chance. He was certainly better than Rubin Colwill.

Yup, went to a game and he was outstanding. It was hard to reconcile that Wales U21 Harris and WAFC Harris were in fact the same man!
