Re: Away support back in the day
If you look at the big games in the seventies, the Palace fans in 1977 were in the Tech End (behind the goal) as were Newcastle and Blackburn in 1978.
That's about as far back as I can remember. |
Re: Away support back in the day
The Geordies bover boots were lined up on the top of the wall as the police made them take them off on entry. Those were the days!

Re: Away support back in the day
It always seemed a bit of a waste in the early 90’s giving over the most modern up to date part of the ground to accommodate 20 Torquay fans on a Tuesday night !
Has an Away team ever used to Kop or part of the it - i cant recall in my 33 years watching!
The only one I can think of was Middlesborough when we played them in the cup in the early 70s. The game Smallman scored the winner. I think they had the kop given to them. |

Sorry Techender Wrexham fans had the kop. Remember being wet on 1 side and dry the other as i could only get half under the busfields in the first half! |
Re: Away support back in the day
Back in the day the away end always changed at half time.
