Squeaky bum time to say the least
Remember it well 13 at the time. My mate went up behind this Villa guy and nicked his scarf on the way to the match.

Remember giving the kop a miss though - some of their skinheads scared the shit out of me and not having the right accent I thought it the most prudent thing to do!!

It pains me to say it, but the Jesters took the kop in the mid to late 70's.
It was a boxing day game I think and trains into Wrexham were full of them.
When a group of us got to the ground, we couldnt get onto the kop, because the Jesters had taken over, and so we went down to the techend and I got butted in the face by one of the scumbags as soon as we walked in there: and so were moved into the paddock. Never had much time for Jesters before that day and have despised them ever since.

Except, that in them days, the police used to escort naughty away fans off the kop and along the side of the pitch and into the away end. I remember it well.

There was that many Preston fans on the kop that when they were being escorted along the mold road paddock, 3 or 4 abreast, they were still coming out or the kop when the front of the queue was entering the tech end!!

If I remember correctly, your right they were taking a bit of a hiding and the few police there could not break it up, it went on for a while.

I remember the way they got out was over the counter of the kiosk with a couple of them spraying Tomato sauce and mustard from the big bottles used for the Hot dogs over some of the Wrexham lads, a bit surreal at the time.

I remember that day- my last match before coming to Australia.
I was 10 years old and arrived early on the kop.
Several Villa lads looked at me and said this will be ours today lad and laughed.
Guess they did...I remember having to find my Dad for security.
