They gave some of the Kop to England for the game that Wales won 4-1. England had just said they were going to get rid of the home internationals because Wales and N. Ireland weren't good enough

Best away support I ever remember was Man City on Boxing Day backing in the late 90's ( I think ) ...they packed the tech end think they brought nearly 3000

I thought it was partially open for the West ham game December 1978 with Wrexham winning 4-3 and West Ham occupying the terrace, may be just my memory playing up though.

I remember Swindon fans being put in the Yale paddock terrace ( Tech end) for Dixies and Dai's first game in 1977, due to the Tech end being closed.

i remember one game, i think in the 78 promotions season, where we had 3 sets of fans - whoever we were playing plus i think PNE as PNE needed the team we were playing to lose to get promoted or avoid relegation or something - could have the year or the opposition wrong

I remember some Mansfield Town fans being in the old Bushfield stand for the final game of 1976/77 season (yes that game again!). They were spitting down on the Wexham fans. I don't recall Brighton or Palace fans in that stand during the big games although a solitary Brighton fan strayed onto the Kop.

I believe we were playing Peterborough and it was for sure Preston. Preston needed us to draw or win and I think it was 0-0

Yes. We were playing Peterborough and Preston fans occupied the whole of the Mold Road paddock. Peterborough needed to win to go up instead of Preston.

The game ended 0-0 and Wrexham and Preston fans were celebrating on the pitch together.

If you look at the first pictures of what our kop was going to look like in about 1977 you will see that an away enclosure was going to be part of the kop but this never happened,I will look if I can find the programme.

The best away support (numbers wise) that I've ever seen in a league game, has to be the Sunderland fans on a May bank holiday in 1979. There must have been at least 7,000 of them in the ground.

There must have also been at least that amount of Liverpool fans there, as well, in the 1977-78 cup tie (tech end, Mold Road paddock and a few on the Kop).
