GRIMSBY TOWN (A) - Thoughts and Predictions

It's never an easy place to go to, but Grimsby are usually a footballing team, which will suit us.

The team selection will be a bit of a mystery until 7 o'clock, when we'll have a better idea how PP will tackle them.

I'll settle for a draw, but hope we go one better.

Mariners 1 WXM 1

Mullin to pop it in.

Re: GRIMSBY TOWN (A) - Thoughts and Predictions

Very tough game, I am definitely more confident winning these big games than in previous seasons. 1-0 win Mullin 42nd minute with 412 marauding reds singing Ally Ally Ho.

Re: GRIMSBY TOWN (A) - Thoughts and Predictions

A draw would be a good result but we could get a better one.
Grimsby are doing well but have played teams that are having bad runs.....
Going to be interesting though...

I'd be happy with a draw, but got a feeling we'll nick it 2-1 Mullin and J Jones

Re: GRIMSBY TOWN (A) - Thoughts and Predictions

Tough game this one. Nil nil would do me. Injuries and suspensions in midfield are making us look quite threadbare now, I assume PP has something up his sleeve.

Although I didn't make Saturdays game, I must say from those highlights that we are starting to look like a really good side. Let's be patient and back the boys!

1-1. This'll be tough without Davies, assuming he's out, but Mullin will save the day.

2-2

I think it'll be another half a dozen games before we really get into our stride. A draw wouldn't be a disaster.

We have to lose at some point and this seems like a time that we may lose, a depleted midfield after some tough matches on a cold Tuesday night in Grimsby.

1-0 home win

2-0 win. We’ll take some of our chances and keep the fish out at the other end.

Saw them on the BT highlights at the weekend they look very good, If we get a draw I have to be honest I would be happy with that.

They have no superstar upfront, so 1-0 us

Re: GRIMSBY TOWN (A) - Thoughts and Predictions

3-0 win. They will attack more than Woking, we will have more space to operate and our extra qualiy up front will see us take an early lead, nick a second on the break and wrap it up in injury time.

EnglishRed 13th September 2021 19.02:14

Re: GRIMSBY TOWN (A) - Thoughts and Predictions

Tough game to predict. Three wins and a draw for them looks fantastic form but when you look at who they have played it doesn't look as impressive, amd they shipped three against Barnet, who are hapless.

That said its always a tough place to go, there will be a big noisy home crowd. We can definitely win but with us not being the finished article I can almost see us losing to a single goal after being shit housed all night. With Pearson or Waterfall from a corner or McAtee with another Pen.

That may just be Monday night pessimism.

It does, but we have two strikers who can score goals, so we could easily not lose.

Hoping to god we win as I live in Grimsby and going with some Grimsby mates so can’t face the stick if we lose. They say they’ll be happy with a draw ( so do I !)

We need to start picking up wins instead of draws now. I'm going for a 3-1 win. Mullin to score two and Hayden from a Tozer throw in to make it 3. Come on the town!

Have a bad feeling this might get called off due to the weather.

Re: GRIMSBY TOWN (A) - Thoughts and Predictions

This will be our most difficult game so far. It is also the time to ignore all the hype and concentrate on the only thing that matters - winning games.

We do not have a balenced mid field, it is too easy to rely on Mullin and we do not have enough pace in our defence. Other teams have improved this season as well as ourselves and I fully expect Grimsby to be in the final mix,

We have got to start winning on a regular basis but a draw would be better than nothing.
Respect to all the travelling Reds, safe journey to all and let them know who we are.

We are absolutely fine for pace at the back.
Midfield is obviously the only concerning area.
I'm going to go for 1-1, i'd take that all day long. But it needs to be followed up with a win on Saturday.

Nice and dry here at the moment but rain forecast for later on this morning and most of the afternoon.

If I hear anything about the game being off I will let you all know, although I would think most will be leaving before a decision is made.

Thanks Les, I've just got to Woodhall Spa for a round of golf on the way and it's OK here but looks ready to tip it down!

Looking forward to the match later:)
