Just home from the game. Disappointed but we must stay level headed.. some of the reactions are way OTT at the minute.

Strange decision to throw Redmond in who looked as though he played deep with Young. Has a chance to grab a shirt but I don’t think we’ll see him much this season (again).

Cleworth is a weak link and hopefully with Brisley back we see less of him. Very disappointed with Hayden tonight and last couple of games - woeful marking at set pieces and his distribution is awful. Whilst I’ve loved Luke Young the last couple of seasons he was like Paul Rutherford on speed in the midfield. We’re crying out for a 6ft+ midfielder who will take the sting out of games and not move out of the centre circle.

Seen a few things said about the formation being the issue - I disagree. I think the issue is the personnel - we have 2 defensive minded wing backs (French & Reckord) playing there. I think we need to see French/Hosannah and Green playing to take the game to teams; it would be more of a 3-5-2 then. We looked confusing tonight, no real game plan and nothing worked. Tough game again Saturday but I feel with a few changes to the team we can improve massively.

Just back.

Bitterly disappointing night. First 15/20 was a very even affair. Went one Nil up and completely fell apart. Cleworth got done for the first but in his defence he had absolutely no support from a quite dire Redmond.
Free header from a corner for a second. Granted great header but a free header all the same. Dire marking.

Second half we huffed and puffed without really threatening and i really felt for Mullin & Hyde feeding of absolute scraps.

Quite simply as has been said the Midfield is awful. Redmond should never play again and i have serious doubts about young. Just goes missing in a lot of games. Overall very poor from the management down although i do think Tyler French had another very good game.

Disappointing but Rome wasn’t built in a day. Big game Saturday.

I like it that Cleworth is getting game time as it aids his progression however, the management must manage his opportunities smarter.
Keep him for the matches against the lower end of the table regulars and he will do OK, throwing him on against promotion rivals could do him more harm than good.
He also needs better players than Redmond in front of him.
