Why Dave Jones?.....do we need the pitch ploughing? IMHO he is past it, way to slow in movement and thinking and wouldn't cover the ground needed to be bossed as a CM general. Not really the sort of midfielder we need, but I'm sure he could do a job as a sitter. You'd like to think his football IQ would be good enough for this level.

The only free agent name that sticks out for that position to me is Darron Gibson, released by Salford in the summer, but he's got a history of attitude problems and broke his leg last year.

Still, technically a Premier League winner with United and has experience higher up.

Huws and Butterfield could be a detective TV series. Huws is murdered during an investigation but returns as a ghost. Butterfield is the only main character able to see or hear him.
