Really good player and a great character. I never met him but have heard great stories about him (all good) Sad loss.

When chatting to him with my old dad he told his tale of the Busby Babes game. Our manager told him to mark their CF, Tommy Taylor, and don’t lose sight of him.

Alan said he saw in at the kick-off, but not again until the final whistle. It was a compliment to just how good a player Taylor was.

Takes a lot of self confidence to be so self deprecating; and he was all the better for it. Really nice guy!

I also knew Alan very well when I was also on the Supporters Association committee. He was always known as a cultured centre half. His game was quality. He always had time to talk to you. A thorough gentleman. RIP Alan.

When I was growing up in his native Holywell, I first got interested in Wrexham playing with his two younger brothers in knockabout games in Fron Park. Then got to see him play so well in Ken Barnes' entertaining side and been hooked ever since. RIP Alan and condolences to all his family.

Echo what has been said.

Alan was also selected by Wales as an U23. It was thought that had he played down south he might have been a full international.

Should have been capped at Senior level. His U23 shirt is on loan at Centenary Club.
