Alan Fox was also one of my boyhood Wrexham heroes. A stead centre half and as others have said a great exponent of the sliding tackle.

Some years later I was helping a student friend conduct a study of tackling in football - block tackle, slide, reverse etc. Alan happened to be playing for Hartlepools at Chester that night. I said we just had to go.
Alan didn't disappoint.
Yes I remember that team as well. I remember one game where Alan sent a clearance straight through first floor window of the Turf . RIP

We tend to use the term 'legend' a little too much but Alan was a genuine legend. I never met him but he sounds like he was a really nice chap - he was without doubt a great Wrexham player.
