Overnight Stay Win/Loss thread

Mods make sticky.

Let's put this to bed for our new mate MickeyP

Solihull - NO overnight stay - result 2-2 D
Southend - YES overnight stay - result 2-2 D
Eastleigh - YES overnight stay - result 2-0 W
Grimsby - YES overnight stay - result 1-3 L

NO overnight stay has yielded 1pt from 3 - 1ppg
YES overnight stay has yielded - 4pts from 9 - 1.3ppg

Shocking stuff.

OP - you have only taken 4 games from this season into account when working out the stats.

A longer period of time is required. I suggest a period of 15 years would be better to get a better idea.

The stat taking starts now. You come back in 15 years.

That’s a lovely longitudinal study! Do you have that info to hand? Surely you must have a bit of an insight because you raised the initial point?

Also LLB we will have to think about weighting because it’s really not accurate if we go season and season not having an overnight stay.

Does anyone remember that estate agent from whitchurch who used to post on here?

OK, I'll feed the troll...

If you go back 15 years (and if you're that keen, just get on with it yourself), you will end up with meaningless results.
Perhaps you are not familiar with running investigations and statistical analysis, but this proposal would fail at the first stage.
Players, as human beings, react differently to different outside stimuli and so comparing non-matching sets would be a complete waste of time.
In other words a bit like the hotel stay thread.
