Phil Parkinson Interview
https://twitter.com/TomiCaws/status/1441816542748950530 The first link is from our official YT channel. The second is from Tomi Caws on Twitter. You can clearly see the difference in questions asked between the two interviewers, Parky was put underway more pressure from Tomi compared to the media team and this is exactly what we the fans want. |

Re: Phil Parkinson Interview
I haven't listened to his interviews amd Im not intending to do so, but all I do know is, we need to win our next two games.

Re: Phil Parkinson Interview
Don't agree, I can't see any difficult questions. Neither asked why the 2 performances have been chalk and cheese from 1st to second half. PP needs to be challenged on why when we go 1up we can't control a game. Grimsby 1 -0, lose 3-1. Dagenham and Redbridge 1-0 at h/t distinctly 2nd best in the second half, same today.

And as we have seen over the years, our media team never fail to ask the boring manager pleasing questions. We need Parky to be challenged in order to see his response to certain questions in order to find out if he can rise to the challenge and the added enormous pressure that came with taking the job in the first place. But the truth of the matter is, we need wins on the pitch and when we don't win we want answers! Last edited by JonesRed; 26th September 2021 at 00.16:02.. |

Re: Phil Parkinson Interview
It's not the clubs media teams job to put difficult questions to him though.
It's the clubs job to paint a nice picture that everything is ok and keep fans happy with the club. It's up to leader/post/etc journo's to ask the hard questions. |

Re: Phil Parkinson Interview
The ‘fluffy’ non-interrogating style is to be expected, but they should at least get the lighting sorted.
PP is identifying similar issues each game, but we are not addressing them effectively: not taking our chances; poor delivery to the forwards; midfield being bypassed too easily; defence not clearing the lines. It’s all the basic stuff that should be within our grasp even with the injuries. Bottom line is we cannot expect to be challenging if we continue to repeat these same mistakes. Aldershot must be used to make the necessary changes, especially as Davies, Hyde, Brisley and Hosannah must now be close to match fitness. We have enough options to move Tozer into midfield, which would change the dynamics of the team. With Hyde supporting Mullin and at least one change at WB should be more than enough to beat Aldershot convincingly. That result cannot be compromised. However, this game is prep for the tougher challenge against Chesterfield. Despite yesterday’s unacceptable defeat, there should be a full house against Chesterfield. It will be essential that team and fans are in that fight together because a defeat against Chesterfield really would put pressure on our achieving our immediate goal of staying within 10 points or so of the leaders until January. Everyone knows we boobied by not strengthening the midfield. Until then, we must do the best we can with the players we have. Regardless how you view the merits of Young, that means Tozer must be moved into midfield, and then perm another 2 around him. Personally, I think PP made a mistake making Young captain. We’ll see if he has the mettle to correct that error. Finally, despite our erratic start, the season is far from over. There is a long way to go, yet. But we must address our weaknesses now!

Re: Phil Parkinson Interview
Interesting that Phil P was more critical of the midfield today. He used terms like our midfield was 'cut through' and Young was 'bypassed' in midfield etc. Sounds like he knows where some of our problems lie, along with not being able to clear the box.

Re: Phil Parkinson Interview
I havent heard 1 person ask him directly if he's happy with how his midfield are functioning, whether the win backs are providing enough of an attacking outlet, whether the long throws are working for us, why an expensive defence is conceding so regularly
Tomi Caws asked him why the strikers were isolated v Grimsby and he looked furious so maybe thats why TC has backed off a bit but its a shame PP is getting a relatively easy ride Posted via mobile theme |
