Default CHESTERFIELD (H) - Thoughts and Predictions

After Saturday’s unusual end we now face Chesterfield tomorrow in a massive, 6-point encounter.

Seems inevitable that Young and Tozer will be missing, so we are again looking at necessary changes that denies us the stability we seek.

Hosannah looked very handy on the video and, much to the surprise of many, Redmond showed more of what he can do.

Chesterfield are a good, well organized team who have a tight defence and some forwards who can score if given space. This will be no walk in the park, and it seems likely that the scoreline will be tight.

The big unknown will be the state of the pitch. It has already had a good soaking with more heavy rain forecast.

The main thing is we must not lose; but playing for a draw is fraught with danger. Let’s take advantage of another big crowd, press them hard and go for the jugular. We can win this!

WXM 2 Chesterfield 1

8,600 under and over the floods!

It'll be a tough game, as you said. I think we've got enough to get a win but we're going to have to be on our game for 90 minutes, and not just 45 like we have in previous games.

My head says a draw, but I'll be optimistic and agree with OP with a 2-1 Wrexham win.

You've got to win your home games, and they've recently been missing important bodies in midfield so I wouldn't expect us to totally lose the midfield battle. I think we'll win this one more comfortably than some people may think.

3-1 Wrexham with Mullin, Redmond and Hyde on the scoresheet. 8750 in attendance, including 500 Spirites.

2-1 to Chesterfield

Think we’ll struggle to handle Tshimanga

Could really do with Brisley filling in for Tozer for this one.

I'm hoping Tozer's injury isn't long term, it has all gone a bit quiet on that front.

We need to win, but I would probably settle for a draw.
