Re: James Rowe on that tackle
It’s nothing to do with the ref as such. In my opinion both players went in too hard and risked injury to themselves or the opponent. Can’t really expect the ref to give two reds (though that would be brave)

Re: James Rowe on that tackle
Not seen the highlights yet so just my thoughts from sat in the Mold road was that it was two players fully committed to winning the ball.
It looked a nasty coming together but neither player was more dangerous than the other. The fact their lad came of worse is just one of those things in football, there was certainly no intent to harm him from Reckord. His injury was compounded by the fact the medical team allowed him to continue but I can understand them not realising the severity of the injury, it was a hairline fracture and if the player had full range of movement and limited pain, he could be expected to and probably wanted himself to, try and "run it off". At that point, who could have predicted what was to come? Feel sorry for Carline and wish him a speedy recovery. |

Re: James Rowe on that tackle
What Rowe goes on to say about the officiating and standard of the game at this level is spot on.
It's like the opposite of what they are looking at doing in rugby union with substitutes only allowed for injury instead of tactically so as not to have a fresh, big, strong bloke against another big, strong bloke who is knackered having run his arse off for 70 - 75 minutes. In NL now, we see bigger, stronger, faster, fitter players coming down from the leagues above, playing against part time lads turning up after work. Players at this level do need more protection and the officials are poor at best. |

Re: James Rowe on that tackle
I thought he might book both, but he was focused on throw-ins. They were both at fault/committed.

Re: James Rowe on that tackle
I will say again, if the injury was that bad, you have to question the Chesterfield medical staff for allowing him to continue. Even more at half time when surely they looked at it again?
I think JR is trying to cover for his medical staff! From the MRS it looked a committed tackle by 2 players trying to win the ball. The referee has a decision to make and like all other decisions, you have a view of whether he got it right or wrong. Shame for their player and I wish him well in his recovery. |
