Wrexham DSA committee are delighted to have delivered this defibrillator project at the Racecourse Stadium. It will not only benefit the football club, but being sited on the outside of the Mold Rd. stand, this defibrillator is very much a community asset!
The original idea came from a member of our committee following the traumatic events during the summer at the Euro's, when Denmark's Christian Erikson collapsed on the pitch during a game. Whilst matchday paramedics do carry a defib, we believed that it would be a huge benefit to club if we had one permanently situated at the Racecourse Ground.
Recent events at St. James's Park Newcastle over the weekend have only cemented this belief. In both instances, a defibrillator was a lifesaver!
We sincerely hope that its use is never called upon, but should it ever be required, then we will take further pride from it being there in someone's time of need.

Excellent news.. The club should have one pitch side but this will serve the Mold Road etc. Its good that both WFA and EFA are now funding the devices for grass roots clubs as well.

Out of interest is there training available for some ? Or is it left to the medical support at the club?

It's designed to be able to be used without training, basically you ring 999, they give you the pin code to open the box and any instructions needed to use it.
