Whilst others relax and sit on the security of a contract, maybe it allows certain players to play with less pressure and "limbo" of not knowing where you'll be playing next season.
Yes you might be right there - and just to think the bedwetting when he was retained!

Possibly also some better coaching from the new regime, one of his main issues was concentration so perhaps they’ve also been working on that.

If that’s the case clearly bearing fruit. Maybe it’s the new hair do too. Perhaps he needs a word with Pont

Mark Griffiths did make a fair comment that Lainton is more reluctant to leave his line for crosses, so less likely to make a mistake but equally less likely to claim crosses or atleast prevent free headers. I suppose the proof is in the statistics and the important bit is good communication and understanding with centre backs of each others role and capabilities.

As far as team of the week, the NL highlights showed 2 or 3 keepers having bad days on Saturday.

I thought that as a defensive unit, we looked a lot better. Hayden, given more responsibility in a back four, he did look more effective. Davies in midfield was involved in everything and took his far share of flack. Tozer in midfield is a short term fix. Yes, it’s better when he is moved into the middle but a centre back, over the age of 30, is not going to be very mobile.
As for Dior Angus, sorry, not for me. No physical presence at all. Shirking any 50/50 ball. He did get a one on one chance and he fluffed it.
On Saturday at Barnet, we did the job. A three nil victory away from home looks good, but Barnet were dire. WAFC did just enough. We are a progressing, but very slowly. I wonder whatRob andRyan are going to witness on Saturday?

Moving in the right direction, playing lesser teams will help to get it better and winning breeds confidence. As you elude to, playing the better teams will eventually tell us how much we have progressed.

I didn't go but I think it's a matter that Barnet aren't Stockport or Chesterfield. Dibble is a car crash waiting to happen. He'll do his job for a game or two but he'll make a mistake and it'll impact how the defence play as they don't trust him

I would say 3-0 is a little more than just enough

When I say “did just enough” I mean that we didn’t hammer them. Some folks might look at a 3-0 away win and say that we gave them a footballing master class. We didn’t. I don’t think that PP planned to over run Barnet with lots of attacking moves. Barnet were the worst team that I have seen in ages. Clearly we are a lot better than that and won comfortably, but it wasn’t exciting or easy on the eye. Yes, we have to put lesser teams to the sword but a top six team would have asked a lot more of us.
On the train going back later, the question was raised “what are we going to do when/if Mullin gets injured or suspended?” Pray, was the consensus!
