Default Torquay (H) Ratings

Lainton (6) Not much to do really. Could do nothing for the goal.

French (6) Solid enough. Struggled to make an impact going forward

Lennon (8) MOTM - great goal and a classy all-round display. The more he plays the better

Hayden (7) Won pretty much everything in the air.

Reckord (5) Iffy at times and poor in the opposition half.

Davies (5) Gave the ball away far too many times. Indecisive in the final third

Jones(6) OK- lots of energy

Tozer (5) Ok, too many throw-ins right at the keeper

Mcalinden (6) huffed and puffed but no real moments of quality

Hosannah (6) At least he tried to force the issue and take on his man/drive at their defence. Thought he had won a penalty too

Pont (7) For effort alone he deserves a decent mark, Angus take note. He had a couple of half-chances he could have done better with.

Angus (4) Poor

Jarivs NA

All in all, a underwhelming performance but thought we'd done enough to scrape the 1-0 win. Made things far too easy for them for the goal.

We just can't seem to dominate teams at home, did we even string more than five-passes together all game?

PP under pressure.

Lainton 6 not much to do, could he have done better for the goal?

French 6 a reasonable stopper but not good enough on the ball for a full back
Hayden 7 thought he did ok
Lennon 8 motm our best player by a mile
Reckord 5 a bit like french but not as good in the air

Tozer 5 £200k? You’re having a laugh. Ordinary lump
Jones 4 45 games in league one? Surely not, the games passes him by. He just gets the odd touch, never wants to be on the ball

Hosannah 7 raw and no end product but at least he attempts exciting things.
Davies 5 felt sorry for him playing the role of our new target man
Mcalinden 5 flatters to deceive

Point 7 for effort, gave everything today in a difficult lone role

Subs
Good to see Luke young back

Lainton (6) Not much to do except pick the ball out of the net.

French (7) Had a good first half, faded in the second

Lennon (7) Had a couple of dodge moments, but overall good

Hayden (8) Best game I have seen him play so far.

Reckord (6)couple of decent tackles, to many of his passes went straight out of play .

Davies (4) poor game, lost the ball to often, ran out of steam big style second half.

Jones (6) Thought he did ok today

Tozer (7) Played well, but if we cant stop throwing the ball to the keeper lets try something different.

Mcalinden (8)Drove forward first half, linked well with Pont thought he had a good game

Hosannah (6) Has the makings of a good player, wish he had taken the fullback on a bit more often.

Pont (7) Looked lost for the first 10 minutes, played well after that but cant see him scoring many.

Angus (2) No impact on the game

Jarivs NA

Dropped to deep and let them come on to us, another poor result in front of a bumper crowd.

Crowd ( 9)- I thought the backing the team got today was brilliant

Default Re: Torquay (H) Ratings

Lainton 6 - nothing really to do and no chance for the goal.

French 7 - good energy and fight as ever
Hayden 7 - won every header
Lennon 8 - a quality performance
Reckord 4 - yard dog of a player, his only tactic is to cnut it down the line as hard as he can

Tozer 5 - does not have the mobility to play in midfield
Jones N/A - didn't see him on the pitch so can't comment
Davies 6 - he overdoes it at times and that free kick was gash. At least hit the target FFS.
Hosannah 7 - I like him. Bright but was shattered and had to be subbed.
McAlinden 6 - unexpected good work rate and showed some decent moments

Ponticelli 7 - gets a 7 because he ran himself into the ground but to no avail.

Subs

Angus 5 - a wide forward asked to play as a battering ram. Still needs to offer a lot more.
Young N/A
Jarvis 5 - he's a footballer, so does not fit in with the primitive tactics.

Default Re: Torquay (H) Ratings

Lainton (6) Nothing to do - no keeper would have stopped their goal as no defence!!
Reckord (6) Probably one of his best games..some good tackles but really poor distribution.
Lennon (9) Couldn’t have done much more IMO. Scored and solid at the back.
Hayden (8) won everything in the air and pushed forward when he could.
French (7) Ok…everything said.
Tozer (7) Was alright, nothing horrendous nothing incredible. Threw in our goal.
Jones (4) Slower than a snail both on and off of the ball…bad but apparently better than before…really?!!
Davies (6) Ok but not special
Hosanna (7) Ran his socks off and should have had a penalty.
McAlinden (7) Great first half but went AWOL second.
Ponti (7) Will he ever score?? Worked hard.

Angus (3) Looked disinterested and have very little.
Jarvis (6) Nothing special
Young (N/A) Did nothing but no Time to either

Parkin (40 years) Not special
