Armchair and glory hunter fans. Only appear when we have a good cup draw or final etc

I think the crowds at the racecourse this season, were similar to what we had against Brighton in the cup and Salford on Boxing Day.

Cup final crowds are more or less one offs and I guess we hit our maximum for our first major final at the millennium and then the clubs first ever final at Wembley.

The potential is there but the difficult part is maintaining the demand for tickets, once the hype and the hollywood excitement settles down and it becomes mainly about the football and continued success on the pitch.

Our crowds will hold up this and hopefully the next few years mainly due to the incredible sale of 5,500 STs, but it will be a real test going forward ..Our crowds shot up with our late 1970s team success in the cup and promotion to the old Div 2 (Championship) but equally the crowds dropped twice as fast long before we were relegated back down.

Sorry to disagree dave but come on its been many many years since we have had 20k plus crowds. you honestly think people are turning up to watch what is basically Keatsball for any other reason other than the fact that R&R are now in charge. mmmmm

At the other end of the table, Dover had 399 last night.

Makes a mockery of the proposed plans for a salary cap next season. I bet Dover would be lucky to have a turnover of £200,000 and yet they would be able to spend £900,000 whereas we could only spend the same on a turnover of probably £2,000,000+

It’ll never ever get through to us the salary cap we’ve got nothing to worry about. It would get ripped to shreds in a court of law and would be laughed out of court from a legal perspective. We’d also chuck as much money as required to challenge it in court too. Good times

Agreed as a lawyer; similar to when Man City challenged Financial Fair Play in the Court of Arbitration pretty much entirely successfully.
