What happens to clubs that get relegated out of league 2 with a parachute payment of 800k or whatever that would double someone’s budget and they won’t b allowed to spend it , I’ve said before there will always b ways around it by bonus schemes etc but I can’t see this ever happening

If the players kick off like they did in league two, this salary cap in its current description won't last long

Ultimately if effects players wages, in a short career they may well dig their heals in

A working party represented by clubs will consult with the aim of bringing a full proposal to the 2022 EGM for the membership to vote on"
Surely as a Welsh club we would be exempt ?

It’ll be a rule for the National League, not an FA one, so it will apply (I assume).

It’s an interesting suggestion, and a fundamentally different one to what the EFL has on terms of ‘Financial Fair Play’.

FFP => Try to ensure clubs stay within their means (at least to an extent)
Salary Cap => Try to ensure that all clubs in a division are as close as possible in terms of squads (so the league as a whole is more competitive)

Personally don’t think either should exist as all they do is entrench the status quo at the time they come in, so that ‘big clubs’ can stay big and it becomes vastly more difficult for ‘smaller clubs’ to challenge them…

More than happy for a salary cap to be introduced as long as it's in line with turnover. It would knock Boreham Wood, Bromley & SOlihull down a peg or two with there low income from attendances.

Surely it’s an unlawful restraint of trade to have a set cap regardless of turnover? Thankfully we now have the financial muscle to instruct top lawyers if needed. Interesting context regarding the 3 year deals...
