Uefa category 4 requirements

The last programme notes made reference to our aim to meet the Uefa Stadium category 4 requirement . Mainly, but not exclusively I would have thought with an aim of hosting international matches.

The above document gives us an idea as to the stadium requirements. We have some work to do off the pitch over the next few years.

The on the pitch requirements are obviously the main focus

Really think if we weren't tied in to the Wrexham gateway project the club would be looking at a new location for the stadium.

I heard Sarah Atherton ask the Prime Minister about the Wrexham Gateway Project and mention of ‘Wembley bound Wrexham FC’ during today’s Prime Ministers Questions in the House of Commons. Some cheering from other MPs but other than saying that he knows his Honourable Friend does all she can for Wrexham, our bullshit&ing PM gave no assurances.

Good to hear Wrexham FC mentioned in a full Parliament though.

I don't know if you're right or not but I have a big emotional attachment to the racecourse so I'd hate it if we left.
A bit ironic, I know, given that the ground is entirely different from my first ever visit (circa 1958) and all the stands have been replaced since then.

I went to Northampton Town’s last game at The County Ground as I lived near there. I stayed behind after the game and just watched. Old men in floods of tears. It’s a very difficult call. The emotional attachment is about memories. I would hate to move also but the fact is that new memories will build up in a new stadium especially if the team is successful. But from where we stand now a move would feel to me like the heart of the club was being ripped out.

I'd hate it too, but the flats restrict the size of any replacement for the Wrexham lager stand. As I said on another thread, it will be interesting what AFL come up with.
