When Phil (Brummie) was landlord of The Turf we used to have regular 'after hours' pool sessions (Killer and Doubles mainly). A very young (and sober) Wayne used to participate, and often won his fair share of the pot. So I would suggest he has been associated with The Turf from his early teens (over a generation)!
