Default Player Ratings - Stockport County (H)

For an impressive display in our final home game of the normal season (and hopefully our final home game of the 2021-22 season) let's rate the players.

Dibble - 7: He pulled off some good saves in the first half but Madden, Quigley and Jennings weren't at the races today. Made a particularly important save low to his right when it was 0-0.
French - 7: Was looking to make up for the silly penalty he gave away at Boreham Wood and did so. Did nothing wrong today and can be proud of his performance.
Tozer - 7: A few bad passes early on but when he stopped looking for the worldie pass every time he played well. Got another assist for Palmer's 1st too.
Cleworth - 7: Started off a little shaky but made a important goal-saving header to really turn his game around. Paddy Madden is no mug and Cleworth kept up with him. Definitely one to watch in the future.
Hosannah - 6: Was a handful on the wing - I think he's only going to get better in the future, there's definitely something there.
McFadzean - 7: He knows the score. His decision-making really is top notch for this level. Probably the type of player who goes unnoticed more than a flashier player but does his bit will.
Young - 8: Everywhere. There was a lot of talk about our midfield getting overrun early this season but Young, Davies and Jones ran the show today.
Jones - 8: I say this every time, but what a turnaround in his season. Great play and seems to be able to always find a pass and retain possession.
Davies - 8: Carved Stockport apart with the pass for Mullin's goal and, I haven't seen the replay but I'm not 100% convinced Palmer got a touch on the 3rd goal so he may well have got a goal himself. One for the dubious goals committee, perhaps.
Mullin - 8: Their defence just could not handle him today. In a high pressure situation this is why you pay your strikers the big bucks and he came through for us.
Palmer - 9: MOTM. Unplayable today, got 2 (although maybe one - someone feel free to prove me wrong) and just managed the game as good as anyone. This is what a record signing should do, and a well-deserved pick for sponsors MOTM too.

SUBS:
O'Connor - N/A but did have some good touches
Ponticelli - N/A Cameo appearance

We figured Stockport out today, we just need Torquay or Halifax (or both) to do so now

Special mention for Cleworth who was solid as a rock, winning loads of headers

Absolutely and he stood up to their clear bullying tactics (Jennings included)

Jennings was all elbows and niggles. Don't remember him doing that half as much for us. He was fairly useless today. Quigley huffed and puffed but mainly gave off the air of a 29 year old man whose personality revolves around his sleeve tattoo, his car, and the 19 girls he picks up in said car. Useless.

Thought JJ/Young had spells where they did well without dominating. JD did his usual thing of not doing much, then creating moments of magic. Palmer and Mullin - not much else to say.

BH played the best I've seen him. Tozer had some mindless moments 1st 15 but recovered well.

Enjoyed that, think everybody put a shift in well done all.
We have some strike partnership don’t we far too good for this league.
Take a bow Phil Parkinson, surely time for a Parky’s red and white army chant well deserved.

Same as Jarko said. When we get a result like this, and with 200% effort from every player, personally I feel anything less than 10 out of 10 for every player is kinda like splitting hairs. An immense achievement by all. Breathtaking.
