The reality is we were guaranteed as no other Welsh town applied. They have picked one from Wales, Scotland and northern Ireland.

Those against it are :

1. Those who moan at everything. If Wrexham was given money to build the world’s greatest palaces, museums , concert arenas and a beautiful river running through it, they would still be saying that the money should have been spent on the potholes.

2. Plaid Cymru who resent the fact that it is a UK award linked to the Queen. They prefer to put nationalist politics ahead of the real interests of the town / city.
