Hayden will have given an input on this.

If he’s any good at coming out for high balls / crosses then we’re in business.

35 is no age for a keeper - look at Ray Clemence / Peter Shilton etc - there’s plenty of keepers of that age.

Good solid signing. Sorts the No 1 position for me.

A decent bit of business. Possibly kicks the can of a long-term new #1 down the road with Lainton's injury record for another season but as far as goalkeepers go you can't complain with a guy some Carlisle fans consider a major reason they're still a league club.

No goalkeeper shines when the team are playing well. It's when a team has to dig deep is when you find out what they're made of and Carlisle had to dig deep last season.
