My thoughts exactly, totally undercooked. Pre-Season is too important, this summer can not be repeated.

No not fair..Who finished the stronger and won?
EASTLEIGH scored a soft and then just defended and wasted time.
We didn't play well but still confident we will win league particularly if we add Mendy Tunnicliffe Jorden and Lee to the team

Thought they tired in the last 20 mins.
They set up to defend and frustrate us and succeeded , until the game changer came on. At last we have a player who can beat a man, has a few footballing tricks, and knows where the goal is.

We’re going to have to learn to deal with teams who set up this way. You have to earn the right to win, which we eventually did. Pleased to go home seeing us win - as their time wasting was again very successful. Subdued the crowd, until we got on top

We scored two late goals and you thought we were ‘rusty and blowing’ at the end. It was very frustrating to watch and Eastleigh’s behaviour spoilt the game in the most part. We were always the better side and deserved to win in the end.

Lee made a fantastic contribution today but let’s not pretend that we blown away by a super fit Eastleigh side. They were dead on their feet themselves at the end.

For sure, the pre season schedule wasn’t good.

But our problems today, as has been said many times already this eve on RP were….

Our central midfield simply doesn’t work -

Elliott Lee is great as our attacking mid, and once fit to play 90m, that’s perfect.

But what do we do for the other two places?

TOC sicknote, we’ve never seen him play often enough to even understand what his game is about.

Jordan Davies is a good attacking mid, but, arguably too similar to EL.

Luke Young, bags of effort, but needs a dominating, battling, controlling midfielder in there with him.

James Jones, sorry cos we always seem to be scapegoating someone, but he was utterly anonymous today. Gave us nothing going forward, no presence in the middle, and stood off when Eastleigh pressed towards our box, instead of getting in their faces he just gave them space.

We need another CM, maybe on loan, someone who will boss the middle, alongside Youngy, and free up Lee or Jordan to do their thing behind the front two.

Fans were moaning today about the defence hoofing it to Palmer, but this was happening cos there was no CM presence, no one to give the shorter ball to.

Still, the management team will know all this, I’m sure they’ll get onto it.

The weak link in midfield remains Young.
