This is why proper fans (mainly of league clubs not historic often tinpot none league clubs) who know there football don't begrudge us what's happening now.

Of course the takeover is mental and has taken us to a different level. But it could only work in somewhere with a strong football tradition and fanbase like we had in 2011 and we've had more or less all the time we've been going.

I wonder to what extent 2011 will be featured in the socumentary. I for one hope that its extensively featured. Fans walking into the bank to cash in their life savings to save the club, kids walking into the club and emptying their pocket money on the counter...what a story.

It's really important that this story is told and remembered.

This must NEVER AGAIN be allowed to happen. We so nearly lost our club.

Interestingly, even whilst coming together we still managed to have arguments about it on that thread.

Real lack of biscuit related content though...probably my biggest regret.

I think part of the problem was that very few people at first actually realised the severity of the situation. People don't cash in their life savings on a whim and it took a while for the penny to drop so to speak. It was a very, very close call.

Yeah I mean I was joking but this is part of that particular problem. It was, and as I remember it at the time, a situation which felt at times like it was being intentionally made unclear by people for reasons unknown, which felt rightly suspicious.

I actually think people would have committed alot quicker had there been any kind of substantive and official statement made. It may be more impressive that people offered support on a wing and a prayer...it also gives us an insight into the psyche of the Wrexham fan as we have been burned in the past can often be quick to react and think that holds true even today.

I remember getting the call of Rob (RP) telling me he had heard Moss say the league are demanding the bond money or they will kick us out, yet he was boasting he's not giving them a penny.

This was weeks after the league had kicked Rushden out.

The man was delusional and would have happily seen the club die.

Got his fair share out of cash out of it and fliped off. Absolute scum. Probably took us as close, if not closer to the brink than those that went before him

Indeed - and equally delusional were those who still looked up to him.
Even going to the length of writing letters in the press in support.
