![]() Ep 2 is down to the nitty gritty.
Can we make the playoffs? Well of course we couldn't. One thing that shone through for us in the know today is how weak that team (nearly 2 seasons ago) looked compared to now. I know many will say that they knew that then, but it really does jump out of the screen at you. Of course, most of the millions of viewers will have no idea what has transpired since so the story painted for them was the devastation of missing out on the playoffs not only to supporters but also to the manager and players who subsequently lost their jobs. It was a very humbling moment to watch. This series is building nicely. I've been invested in Wrexham FC for 60+ years and this documentary is turning into something very reverential for us diehards. We're not the target audience of course, but for them I think more than a few heartstrings will be plucked. Really looking forward to ep 3.

![]() Horror show watching that again at the end.
It looks like it will be a great series, historic archive as well, and if I was a streaming boss I would be commissioning a decade of them right now. |

![]() That was very heavy watching. Nearly cried at the end with the whole Rutherford situation.
Not sure Keates would agree with Harvey that he was given everything he needed to get promoted, but that’s ancient history now.

![]() Not sure I’d go that far, but he embodies the spirit of the club as an individual and like him a lot on a human level. Sadly not of the quality we needed playing wise though.

![]() This episode is horrible to watch as its the Paul Rutherford show. Jesus, those changing room scenes after Dagenham were emotional to watch and I really hope he gets a bit of cash from this. What a guy.
I didn't want to like him but Shaun Harvey comes across really well. As does surprisingly, Dean Keates who I really felt for. Credit also for Tyler French putting a consoling arm around Rutherford when he's in absolute bits. The Jordan Davies cameo with his mum (?) is beautiful although I really hope that future episodes respect his privacy after what he went through last season on a personal level. Those dressing room scenes at Dagenham really shows how much the club means to him. Wayne's 2023 Turf turnover will be through the roof. He's the star of the show away from the club. |
