Football hooliganism is something that is important for people trying to understand British football to have a little bit of an understanding about- they may have a quaint view of it or just think its made up. It's not an episode I'm going to rush to watch again but I think it's quite important to include- most football programmes won't mention it. I can't stand the mentality behind football violence but it is part of the overall picture.

Fair play to the fan who got attacked at the train station for featuring. Absolute morons, he's got a local accent ffs (not that it would have been OK if he'd been an away fan) . Did they ever arrest anyone for it?

Football hooliganism is a tiny minority picture, and this TV series seems to be raising it to a higher level. To be frank, Iím getting a bit fed up of interviews with idiots in the Turf. There are many Wrexham fans (not me) who have made immense financial sacrifices following the club over many many years, and who would also be genuine characters and good TV material. But this series keeps on coming back to the idiots. Iím starting to think that they (R and R) have got it seriously wrong.

Correct. I can no longer be bothered to watch it after 4 episodes.

I am very grateful to R&R and otherwise very supportive, but I agree they may well have got this seriously wrong.

Don’t forget the thrust of this documentary is working class club, working class people, and all that goes with it. I do think there’s a bit of a knee jerk reaction to the Torquay incident (can’t think of too many ugly moments in recent years, certainly not inside the stadium) but you can’t get away from the fact we do have a hooligan element. To say they have got it wrong is just trying to sugar coat reality-this is a stark, gritty and bare faced look of lower league football to a largely US audience and they have chosen to confront some of the more taboo issues straight on, for which I commend them. Don’t forget, they have much to lose if this documentary doesn’t go to plan especially with Reynolds involved so I believe everything has been calculated and agreed before it gets screened.

So working class people = hooliganism ? Thatís a stereotype of the worst sort.

I know many working class people who manage to go to the football without looking for a ruck.

Not everyone is going to like it. The amount of plaudits the show is getting internationally suggests they didn't get it wrong.

Don’t be so naive. Of course there’s working class people who have no association with hooliganism, but there is an inextricable link between the two. This episode serves to highlight it does exist, but with a positive spin that there is a choice to be made, you don’t have to live that life. I think it was important to include this subject in the overall series to show it’s not all plain sailing and happy clappers.

Whole thing felt a bit like they wanted to do an episode on hooligans but realised half way through they didn't have enough footage to fill 24 minutes. So we end up with a bit of a history lesson, random Russians fighting and the same guy getting kicked in the head twice.
Not sure what the scene with Jonny talking about getting a season ticket to be with his mates added either.
