Mendy 6 - looks vulnerable defensively and I can see Notts targeting him when we play them. Really don’t get the excitement about him.

Barnett 9 - what a performance. I thought he struggled last week. Poor for the goal last week and looked a bit one dimensional. Complete contrast to todays performance! Caused all sorts of problems for York. Really good.

O Connell 8 - another classy performance. The quality has moving the ball forward from out of the defence is really impressive and not much gets past him. Excellent.

Tozer 7 - Solid performance. His throws cause the opposition problems and he’s a cool head at the back. Read the game well yesterday.

Tunnicliffe 7 - just solid. He’s been another huge signing this season.

Cannon 8 - really enjoy watching him play. Quick feet and always wants the ball. He’s made a huge difference in midfield since TOC got injured.

Jones 8 - he’s everywhere! Great strike for the goal and constantly in the opposition faces. His link up play was good as well yesterday.

Lee 8 - the bloke really makes us tick in the final third. Moves the ball at pace and constantly looking for the ball. Great finish for his goal. This midfield 3 is as strong as we’ve looked all season in the middle. Be interesting to see where TOC fits in when he’s available?

Palmer 7 - basically takes 2 players out of the game when the ball goes up to him. Don’t agree with the notion on here he’s ‘poor in the air’. Very often we pick the second ball up without him needing to win a header. In contrast, Dalby probably wins more flick-on’s but they aren’t always directed to our own players. Mullin and palmer link up superbly.

Mullin 7 - had a really good chance second half you expect him to bury but stretched the York defence. His movement is a joy to watch…

Really enjoyed the game yesterday. Foster signing has given us all a lift and hopefully we now have the final piece in the jigsaw to see out the remaining games at the top of the table. Atmosphere was good yesterday as well.

On to the women’s match this afternoon. Looking forward to sitting in the Tech end for the first time since the refurb last year - and seeing another Wrexham team lift a trophy!!!
Hard to disagree with that Percy, if anything Tozer and Tunnicliffe could be given a 8. Did Emily enjoy meeting Rob and Ryan?

Not sure… she’s in a funny mood today. Something to do with over-doing the ale yesterday. 😂

Foster 8 - If that's his rust game, 1 goal will be enough to win most games the rest of the way.

Barnett 9 - MOTM. Only thing that could've improved his game today was to see his chance early in the game tickle the twine.

O'Connell/Tozer/Tunnicliffe 8 - For me this is the trio they need to ride with the rest of the way - they're really in the zone right now.

Mendy 6.5 - Not as bad as some are saying, but it was not his best performance by any stretch.

Cannon/Jones/Lee 7.5/8/8 - See above about the defense. This is the trio we roll with.

Palmer 7 - Disagree that he's not making impacts on games. He takes so much pressure off of Mullin. Tiers 3 and down you can't underestimate the value of a solid target man as so much of what they do don't show up in goals & assists.

Mullin 7.5 - Was a pest for York to deal with and it's nice we're winning 3-0 when Mullin has an off day finishing.

Dalby 8 - What an impact he had down the stretch. What a weapon to have off the bench.

7 to go! Let's have Alty nick a draw Tuesday shall we?

Foster - 8: Catching was bob-on, distribution was swift and accurate and was tested once and matched up to that test. One blip but it wasn't costly and didn't look like he'd missed a step.
O'Connell - 8: Gave York scraps to feed off of. Makes the game look easy up against Danny Rowe who was the league's best striker a few years ago.
Tozer - 9: MOTM for me. John-Lewis was putting himself about and Tozer let him have nothing. Got an assist for Dalby's goal too.
Tunnicliffe - 8: Looked assured in what has become a typical Tunnicliffe performance.
Barnett - 9: First half nobody could take the ball off of him. 2nd half was quieter but still good. Looking like an excellent signing who is different from what we had previously.
Mendy - 5: Not his best game and struggled a little. Don't think it's too much a cause for concern since people know what he can do, though.
Jones - 8: Constantly at his opponents, his shot caused the opener to happen and is probably the fittest player at the club.
Cannon - 8: He plays simple football but gets it right. Joy to watch with the ball today.
Lee - 9: A nuisance for the opposition, capped off a great performance with a goal at the end.
Mullin - 7: Didn't get much joy today but was still moving around and giving York things to think about.
Palmer - 7: Does a lot of the donkey work, the stuff that doesn't catch the headlines. Involved in a lot of our attacking moves before he came off.

SUBS
Dalby - 9: A goal and an assist in 20 minutes. Can ask for very little more from him.
Davies - N/A: Cameo appearance.

A load of potential MOTM but Tozer just edges it for me over Barnett and Lee who would have also been worthy MOTMs. Parkinson once again got it right, especially making the Dalby change which proved to be the thing to kill the game off.

I’ve still not quite worked out what happened if I’m honest. 😂

Also the fact that Palmer was on a booking had a bearing on this.

Mendy not at his best yesterday but a far better option than McFadzean! Palmer works incessantly and tires defenders out! The ever improving Dalby takes advantage as a super sub as a consequence!
