I always find it a funny saying. Its a defenders job to keep players quiet and stop attacking players playing their best. In some games the defenders can get the better of their attackers and the next time around could be the opposite. Langstaff was in no ones pocket when he scored the winner at Meadow Lane, in fact he was in oceans of space, yet barely had a sniff in the 2nd fixture.

Mendy did indeed do well against Nemame at the Racecourse, as did your whole backline against our attackers.

So does this mean you lot on VftK forum have now stopped slagging Nemane off? because he hadn't signed for you and he's now the best thing since sliced bread or he couldn't get a better deal from the other clubs he was talking too?

There was a few in the mindset that because he was taking his time to see what offers were on the table his heart wasnt in playing for Notts County which I find bizarre. Why shouldn't he see what offers come through and pick what's best for him. The vast majority of fans know how important he is to us, and didn't slag him off. Get idiots on all forums.

Regarding other clubs, I think its more likely other clubs did approach him, offered a little more money, and we came back with another offer to match the other clubs or improve the offer. This would explain the amount of time it took to sign the contract, although I have no evidence or this, just a hunch.

I think it makes sense when you are out of contract to see what is available, or use the interest of another club to improve your bargaining position. The other offers were obviously not enough to be worth the while of relocating.

Despite all the signings every other club has made we still remain short price favourites to win the league.
Goodness know how short our price will be if we sign any players.

Has anyone signed a player better than what we have here already? Genuine question, not being rhetorical.

Regardless of age McGoldrick has to be up there, would most Wrexham fans swap him for Mullin? Probably not, but they would love him as Mullins partner up front.
