Default Happy thus far?

11 games in. A quarter there. Ninth.
Clean sheet last night -albeit with defensive frailties.
Mullin on his way back.
The White Pele.
Best supporters in the league.
etc. etc.

Thoughts so far? Happy?

**Fleur still about?

I think there is a lot of improvement to still be had. Stockport, Notts County and Mansfield Town look to be better than us right now. I think we are in the next 3-4 behind them although we have played so poor in the back.

If you go by game stats, we've dominated everyone except for Stockport and Mansfield.

If Arthur plays like he did today, we have a fortress in front of goal. Our defense isn't as bad as it seems. George Evans is a big upgrade in the middle of the field. Fletcher is quality.

My biggest concern is how unconfident the entire team looks on the ball. It utterly confuses me. We have a team made up of mostly league 1 and 2 players. They give the ball away too easily. I don't think ball control is practiced as I have no other explanation.

I want to see where we are at after 23 games. Our average opponent has been 10th and in the next 12 games it will be 15th. That includes tough games against Notts, Gillingham and Crawley Town. I want to see if we can string together a win streak of 4-6 games sometime before Christmas. That would give me more confidence that we could fight for an automatic promotion.

If we can maintain this position by Christmas then I will feel quite confident, every game feels a battle at present. Unfortunately (not sure how with all the money spent) we have ended up with a squad with no pace and this must be corrected if we want to compete.

9th so not tragic, but look far inferior to some of the teams above us. Woeful footie at times. Surprising really.

Itís a decent start and it looks like we could easily make a play off position. The main concern for me is the sheer number of players that I have doubts about going forward. At the end of this season you could make a case for offloading these below in so far as they will not be good enough in L1. I see a summer of transition next year which could be costly and break the stability and continuity that we have had.

Howard
Lainton
Tozer
Boyle
Cleworth
McLean
McFadzdean
McAlinden
Hosannah
O Connor
Davies
Young
Palmer
Fletcher
Dalby
Waters
Bickerstaff

I think many of us underestimated the gulf in quality between the top end of L2 and the NL. I'm satisfied if not delighted with how we've done so far and I think we can only improve

got to be. solid start and well positioned to push on.

The only thing that niggles with fans I think is that Notts county are top, so the jump cannot be that great, so why couldn't we have done that etc

Mainly down to more favourable fixtures for Notts, I think they're of a similar level to us still

I just wish we could find a way to improve on our away performances. Not so much the results (Stockport aside of course), but like a lot of people Iím finding our seeming lack of ability to string passes together, sloppy play leading to pressure, losing 50/50 challenges etc both baffling and extremely frustrating and I canít put my finger on why we play like that. You can put the blame on Parky for the system of play of course, but I find our individual performances more frustrating to be honest, which is weird as I rate the majority of our playersÖ. As I say I canít put my finger on it.
