Default Re: Biggest attendance

But I still think Wrexham FC will draw the best attendances of any club in the league over the season, may be different at the business end as promotion or play offs kick in. Every team wants to beat us and to some it's their cup final, we are probably not even the best team in this division but the owners and hype we get makes us the Man United of the division, most fans other than Man U, fans hate the most, Most of, in Wrexham FC case is down to jealousy as much as fans from other clubs can't admit it, but it's true. Would Wrexham now without its Hollywood owners create the same attention from other groups of fans not a hope we are just another side in the backwoods of North Wales. But as a season ticket holder I'm proud we get so much media attention now it brings people to our City and makes us all proud again which has been lost for 20+ years. Onwards and Upwards that's where we are going.

If I supported another team, I'd want to beat us the most. You only have to venture onto the comments of any YouTube video or tweet about Wrexham to see how much our heavy media coverage boils the piss of opposition fans. Great innit?

Stop being so coy, are your lot celebrating beating Bradford 5-0 the same way you're celebrating beating us 5-0 ? Absolutely not.

That's not being self important, it's a fact because of the media frenzy around us. You all want to shove it down our throats. We get it, but don't deny it
Quite a statement. So you're saying Wrexham coming to town overrides decades of local rivalry in some cases?

Probably not re the 5-0 but we had a title race recently and we have no rivalry with Bradford. You're probably as close as we've got to a rivalry at this level with our traditional rivals of City, Burnley etc. going the opposite way when we plumetted. We'd be celebrating losing 5-0 to anyone more on the final day if it was enough to ensure promotion though.

You've got a point re the media frenzy but it's more it being shoved down our throats. It's a bit lazy after a while. We get it - lots of exciting stuff going on - but there are other clubs and stories at this level. You're inside the bubble though and it's all interesting for you (as well as generating loads of money) - for others it just gets a bit tiresome.

Anyways, my point is I'd be surprised if you find many home fans turning up to games because it's Wrexham (rather than a 6-pointer etc.). As to attendances, there are a lot more other factors in play.

I sort of agree, although it's a stretch to say "every club in this division wants to beat Wrexham more than they do any other." Notts fans want to beat Mansfield more than they want to beat Wrexham, for example. I'm sure there are other examples.

But outside of local rivalries and key games that decide seasons, I agree. The media frenzy and all that comes with it gets people's backs up. The same probably applies to players of other clubs too.

As you say, it's not that people are excited to see Wrexham play - Wrexham aren't even the biggest club in the division. It's that they want that "put that in your ****ing documentary" moment.

We sold out but the attendance was only 9500 or so, so quite a few didn't turn up. Max is about 10,300 or so. Looking at Footballwebpages we got over that 10 times last season.
Crawley had 3500 at home to Sutton last weekend, current season high of 4300 against gillingham. 6,000 capacity with us in town tomorrow. Granted there’ll be a few extra fans but clearly we’re box office to fans of other clubs.
And yes I think it’s weird too. I wouldn’t bother if it was another club.
