Draw after the group stage. Winners will play against runners up and will still regionalised for the first 2 rounds.

It's in this competition imo where Wrexham's depth really shows up. A lot of their supposed second string like Davies and Young could start on a regular basis, most of these other L2 teams won't have as deep a bench to play. Maybe a L1 team like Port Vale could but that'll really be a who cares game.

Think they’re different players, would love to have seen Mullin when he was at Tranmere and compare to Bickerstaff. Bickerstaff now and again does something that really makes you think there’s a player there, needs to start beating his man more often though.

So basically a little bit of both then (draw and loose bracket) haha

Hopefully Hosannah can get a consistent run out in these Cup games and keep injury free. I am convinced there is a decent player there who could force his way into the 22 come January.

Solid performance from everyone tonight. Think JD is close to a start on Saturday and surely Bickerstaff deserves a spot on the bench alongside Fletcher.

We beat Alex 3-0 away in this competition 30 years ago and we all know what happened after that!

Great game overall. Keeper looked very calm and collective. Still think Dalby looked poor against a young side. But that’s my opinion. Otherwise a well drilled team. Kept the ball on the ground and played well considering it’s a group of players who haven’t played week in week out together.
