I think the exact same, I hope we don’t in all honesty

He’s become a proper team player and is a big reason why Fletcher is so effective from the bench.
Yes , agreed. His contribution has been immense . Unfortunately I think there's a number of fans who think that a forward's only job is to score goals ( it's a lack of understanding of the game to be honest ) - he does so much more than just score goals , his overall contribution to the team is huge ..... that being said he'll still finish the season on 10 to 15 goals , which is very respectable in this division

they do , but he's not particularly prolific to be honest, he has a reasonable goal scoring record, but I suspect if Bickerstaff played the same number of games as him he'd have as many , if not more goals .......

Armstrong isn't going to be Harrogate's saviour and if he comes here , he's going to spend a lot of time on the bench

I think it's difficult to judge him on his goals record before he actually gets here and you see how he looks playing in our system.

I mean, he's basically played in a dogshit harrogate team that's finished 17th and 19th in the last 2 seasons - who's to say if you drop him into a team that bangs in the goals for fun like us he might start hitting higher numbers with the better and more frequent chances he's getting?

I'm not saying i think he'll be brilliant or anything as to be honest I know very little about him, just that if he does come here I'll judge him on how he looks playing for us and not his previous record (which actually isn't too bad considering harrogate league position in the last 2 seasons).

Ollie was criticized last season because he played poorly for the second half of it. He ended the season behind Dalby in the pecking order.

He's come back this season looking like the player we bought, and I would agree he's been one of the top performers this season.

He's certainly better now than the end of last season, when he finished poorly.

But is he producing what's needed at the level required? I would say not, myself.

You correctly state that 'scoring goals' ain't the only job of a striker, then slightly contradict yourself by saying Armstrong won't play many games because he ain't prolific.

Presumably, PP and the staff saw something in Armstrong that we are missing. Or am I being being petty, narrow-minded and simply picking on Ollie Palmer?

The gulf between Fletcher and Palmer is vast. Defenders fear Fletcher whilst they generally crowd out Palmer. If he could switch the ball quickly to someone in space then he would be doing much better, but he often can't.

I would say that Dalby, if he concentrates, also offers more than Palmer. I suspect -- but don't know -- that Dalby has been carrying an injury, just as Palmer did last season. But age is on Dalby's side, whereas Palmer and, sadly, Fletcher are both on the wrong side of the drag-curve!

Alas, we will probably never get 90 minutes from a fully fit pairing of Mullin and Fletcher. Now that would be something to enjoy!

The difference with Armstrong is he's ' just a goal scorer' he has vert little else to his game , he's a penalty box between the goal posts scorer .... but he doesn't score many goals ... Ollie has a lot more to his game than that

Totally chilled with whether we get Armstrong or not because I trust our recruitment policy

It's served us pretty well so far
