imagine when R&R were looking into acquiring a club and they found Wrexham sitting there with zero debt? they must've fallen over themselves to buy the club. didn't help the prior competitiveness on the field of course, but wow.. the financials looked great to a buyer, didn't they?

they didn't actually buy the club. It was handed to them at what is called a peppercorn. Of course a load of baggage came with that peppercorn.

even more of a reason to jump to buy it. since there was no one looking to cash out on the sale, just the WST who wanted good owners, buying for 1 pound with the agreement to invest 2 million is a crazy deal for the buyers. immediately increase the value of the club by transferring the cash to the balance sheet. then buy the ground and that goes to the balance sheet. the wst sold with no debt and cash on hand. crazy win for the co-chairmen. for all the talk on the doc about how much money they are spending... wow... how much is Wrexham AFC worth these days?

Club value = (Revenue + Net Assets) * [(Net Profit + Revenue) / Revenue] * (% stadium filled) / (%wage ratio)

Hmmmm, I remember the last P and L the WST produced, and it didnít make for good reading. It was a question of when, not if, the club would be in the red as all the family silver had long gone.

was scary to see how close they were to relegation too. covid kept them in the league and put them on Humphrey's list.

I would throw a sizable number for goodwill into the asset category for Wrexham. Club is worth more than just the grounds and the revenue and profits and tickets sold. especially on this trajectory.

To put a figure on it I'd say the club is worth around £50 million going into 2024 on a turnover of £20 million (plus a dollop extra on that given the R&R factor and their long term plans)

One thing you canít accuse the trust of is supporting their manager financially at the behest of of other things at the club such as the youth set up. History would state that some of their managerial choices werenít up to scratch.
