If he stays fit now , Mullin will still have 25+ goals by the end of the season.

He's finding the level fine ... but the injury was a factor in a slow start
Why would you compare them? Totally different styles. We've seen that ourselves and how simple it is to turn off his supply and make him anonymous. Mullin offers far more over much more of the pitch. He just hasn't scored as many goals. He's not fully fit.

Think their Chairman may get a bit of a welcome in the hill sides in the return fixture:

Unfortunately we got sucked into hoofball today, not playing out from the back and no midfield control, which is where we have done so well recently.

We hardly tested their keeper today, but should have had a couple of goals.

Weíll lose a few more games this season, it was a bad day at the office, move on to Morecambe next week, and letís keep the ball on the floor.

Not sure the Davies experiment did work- but this was hardly a game to judge it properly. A stop start, disjointed performance where nobody played well.

This may be seen as knee jerk- and it might well be- but Iíd like to see Lee on the right side of midfield. He simply hasnít got a left foot. If the opposition shows him down the line and cut off the options inside heís anonymous.

And Will Boyle is woeful, simply not good enough. Presumably signed because heís left footed but he isnít anywhere near good enough.

We must forget this and just move on.... I am sure we wil.

Accrington are very good at what they do, it how they have survived for so long in the EFL.

First half pretty impressive, on another day Mullin would have scored.

Second half unimpressive, we became rushed and gave ball away too easily.

Other results in L2 went as expected.

We remain in 4th , another blockbuster home fixture next week.

I expect a reaction next Saturday and we just need to keep in touch of top three, with reinforcements due in 8 weeks.
reinforcements may come in 8 weeks , but experience shows that they're not likely slot straight in - Parky likes to get them to spend a few weeks in the squad before the really feature.....

...... BUT Barnett will be back , EOC will be back and they're both fully part of the squad , so they'll be like 2 new players instantly ( in positions that are really needed )

We shouldn't have put the post we did up before the game.

If the shoe was on the other foot, we'd be all over it as well.

It really didn't work - I love JD , but he doesn't have the pace to play the attacking part of the wing back role and he's not strong enough defensively to that part of the game - he's a great player , but there's a reason he moved away fro WB as he developed

The problem is , when we don't have 2 proper WBs on the pitch , we lose our balance , it becomes easier to defend against the one proper WB we have as they can gang up on his side and we then resort to Long balls into the front 2 ... when we do that as we did today , we had Dalby who really can't compete with big physical CBs despite his size ( it's just not his game ) ....

... so the knock on effect of not having 2 proper WBs has much wider knock on effects on the rest of the side
