One of the worst games I've ever had to watch.

Highlight for me was Boyle frantically calling for the ball in the box whilst been marked touch tight by 2 players. Not going on mastermind this year is he?

Andy Holt pretty much sums up my feelings about Accrington Stanley. Not worth a care. Boredom Wood of the EFL.

Doing well for a pub team given that they are only 4 points behind us 😜,

At the end of the day that was an all round bad performance and one we have to put behind us and bounce back from next week.

I think Tozer plays his best game with Evans and TOC either side of him at the back and doesn’t look as assured with Hayden on the right of him and seemed to become even less settled second half with Boyle added into the mix.

I still can't understand why we started Dalby Vs Palmer in this came - it was crying out for Palmer to come in and battle their big CBs - Dalby always struggles massively in a physical contest

Parky on thin ice
Howard back next week
Drop Mullin, play Bickerstaff

Being serious, it was a poor day at the office not helped by a poor ref.
Disappointing but lots of points still to play for.

That was a classic 'got national leagued'.

We always struggled against that style in the NL and moving up a division has not changed that.

We can be quite a reactive team in terms of style of play, we should have imposed our own style but we resorted to long ball rubbish.

Have to call out a few players:

Hayden - not sure if he is rusty, but his touch at times was awful.
JD - not a LWB and looks a little limited in L2.
TOC - wanted to much time on the ball in the first half.
Boyle - bit of a blunt instrument, not the CB we needed.
Dalby - didn't have much to work with, but a head tennis game is not one he should play in.
Lee - still can't take a corner. Had one in the second half that looked like a 10 year old putting in the ball.
McAlinden - think an injured Hosannah would offer more, shouldn't see a L2 game again this season.

Just have to write this one off and start another unbeaten run from next week.

Won't be the last dodgy performance this season. Just have to put it behind us and move on. Keep in or around the top 3.

you're absolutely right here . He needs to have players around him he knows he can trust . Hayden was very poor Boyle the same. With Tozer needing to be the deepest sitting CB , he's constantly fearing he'll have to get back even deeper to cover for the wide CBs mistakes - when TOC and Evans or EOC are there , he's much more comfortable as he can just concentrate on his game

Can only assume that TOC was injured as if we were going to make a change on the left it should have been JD coming off - maybe going to a 4 at the back , with TOC at FB .... but in truth , we had 3 key players in 3 key positions who were nowhere near good enough ( Hayden , JD & Dalby ) -with those 3 almost not being there it pulled so many other players out of where they should have been - Lee dropping deep in particular ) as a result we were always going to struggle against a very committed Accrington side
